Delacon understands that our clients prefer unused call tracking numbers. However, most number types across all countries have been in circulation over a long period of time and there would rarely be any number that has not previously been in use. To illustrate, Australian 1300/1800 numbers are limited to 1 million unique numbers for each number type and they have been in use since the 1980s.
Delacon employs a rigorous quarantining process to limit any unrelated calls to your business.
For Australia/Singapore/Malaysia:
- For all new numbers allocated to Delacon by INMS (Industry Number Management Services - Australia only), we perform online searches to ensure that the numbers are not ranked in search engines. This minimizes the chance that the numbers are in use.
- For numbers that have been used by previous Delacon clients, we quarantine the numbers for at least 3 months. Only if a number receives 0 calls within the 3 months period, will it be released for re-use. Additionally, we check that numbers are not still listed on websites via an online search.
For US/UK/New Zealand/other countries:
- As we don't keep stock of these number types and order new numbers from our supplier on demand, we rely on the quarantining process of our suppliers, or quarantine the numbers for a shorter period.
Please be aware, that while we do our best to mitigate the risk of unrelated calls, we can’t offer a 100% guarantee.
Additional factors may include:
- Customers may have saved the number and re-dial.
- Existing marketing material may still be in circulation (especially print ads).
- If there is a sudden influx of unrelated calls, please review our FAQ here.
In all cases, if you have any concerns about the tracking number provided to you, please contact Delacon Support and we can provide alternative numbers.
